Golden Eagle
The most common animal that is looked at when studying flight is birds, because without the odd exception most have the ability of flight. However, there are some that go to the extreme in flight in order to survive the harsh setting in which they inhabit. The mountains are a formidable and hostile environment, which can only be survived by the most well adapted animals.
The golden eagle dwells in many areas around the world occupies the Alpes, the Alpes are Europe’s highest peaks, meaning they are a hostile environment for any species to live on. In order for these species to survive, they must have special adaptations. The golden eagle has flight on its side, to battle the sharp edges of the cliff faces the eagle must be able to fly. This natural combat of gravity allows the eagles to glide around the edges of the cliff in the search for prey.
